I Marched for Babies!!!

Yesterday I participated in my 1st ever 10K walk! I raised money and walked in the March of Dimes, March for Babies 2008! It really feels good to have walked for such a good cause. The money raised helps save premature and sick babies. Premature birth is the #1 cause of newborn death and the biggest threat to babies’ health today, and through March for Babies, the March of Dimes is funding important research to find out why premature birth happens and what can be done to prevent it.

This is the link to my fundraising page for the walk.
Thank you to everyone who sponsored me!

I walked with my friend Lisa and her family. Her brother Chris and his wife had a baby born prematurely on Dec 1, 2007 at only 28 weeks. He weighed only 2 lbs & 2 oz. He is strong and healthy now and we all walked in his honor.

My mom and my sister-in-law Rachael also walked with us and I was really glad to have them participate. Our friends Barb and her husband were also along for the walk! Team Kaleb was so strong!

It felt great to cross the finish line and best of all, Danny brought Bronwyn down to see me and show their support! I am so thankful for having such a happy and healthy baby to love everyday! I plan to continue walking every year and raising money so that more people can be so fortunate!

Girls Day Out!

Today I took Bronwyn to the Butterfly Pavillion. We had taken her twice before but that was before she knew what was going on around her. She was alot of fun. We skipped most of the insects. I showed her some cockroaches and she just looked disgusted! So we moved on to the butterflies! It was alot of fun to have her walking around in there herself. She pointed at flowers and was able to notice the butterflies as they fluttered by. She found a small tube in the ground with water and that was enough to occupy most of our trip. There are also a couple of small bridges and she really liked walking across them over and over! I also got a quick video of Bronwyn trying to play with two "flirting" butterfies!

We had alot of other errands to run so we were out for quite awhile. By the time we made it back home we were both really worn out! It was a fun day for us. And she was awesome to hang out with in a fun place... Just the Two of Us

What a Monday!

This morning Bronwyn and I had just left the house and didn't get but 1/2 a mile from our house when WHAM!!!! We were hit from behind! I'll tell you first that we are both okay. But it really was scary! I keep hearing the sound of the car hitting me over and over. Luckily, I drive a good size SUV and the other passenger - let's call her the DGNPA (Dumb-Girl-Not-Paying-Attention) - drove a small car with a low front end. We had just pulled up to the stop light behind a couple other cars. I had just opened my morning shake and was taking a sip when she hit us! Chocolate Slim Fast all over my clean white shirt and my sunglasses, making it impossible to see. We pulled around the corner after seeing that we were all okay and exchanged information. But the DGNPA was definitaly trying to tell me that there was no damage to my car. She started brushing all her paint off my car and saying that's all there was. But there are two cracks on each side of my bumper. And I lease the jeep so I would be stuck paying for it later.

Since we were still so close to home I turned around to go back and get cleaned up. I took Bronwyn out of her carseat and stood her there on the backseat. Just the thought of something happening to her made me so scared. I just looked at her and cried my eyes out for a minute. She just hugged me and held on tight. She seems to know when I really need a hug. Danny was still home so we went in and I told him everything that happened. Later I talked to the insurance companies and it seems that the DGNPA's company will handle everything. Now I have to make an appointment and get to the body shop to have the bumper repaired. I am definitaly thankful that we are okay, but I really hate dealing with these kinds of things. At least I can report that her carseat is successful in handling rear impacts! What a way to start a Monday!

Fun with Family...

So I have alot of family here in town that we see pretty often. For some reason, when we are with the whole gang, Bronwyn does not like to leave my side. Although recently, each time she sees them all, she is slowly venturing farther and farther from me lap! Tonight we celebrated our cousin Laura's birthday. She had all the family over for her party. They have alot of fun stuff to play with in their backyard, although Bronwyn is just a wee bit small to experience all of this fun on her own! Luckily she has 6 cousins that love to help anyway they can! She got bounced on a trampoline, was held on a see-saw and had some help getting down a slide! We got a couple of pictures while we were out.

We're raising a biter....

We're learning that Bronwyn is finding other uses for those nifty teeth that keep growing in her mouth. I suppose if we did not give her any attention... it just may stop... but she's just too funny!

She really enjoys biting my toes...

And she's even fond of biting Danny's nose!

So beware of Bronwyn! We'll let her have some fun... until she gets more than her 4 and 2 halves teeth!!!
