Chicken Wing!

So we're still super busy trying to get settled into our new home. It's been alot of work and we have really been exhausted. We finally made it out of our old house Friday night around 10:30! We never used a moving truck. We just packed our stuff and packed our cars with it! My dad and my brother came over a few times with their pick-up trucks to take our big furniture. Now we're in a world of mess. Each day it seemed like the last trip of stuff just got shoved in the front door! Now I'm sifting through the piles and all the mess trying to get us organized.

We took a day off from unpacking on Saturday and celebrated our friend Lorin's 3rd birthday. Too bad I had left my camera in the car because there were many fun moments! I have to steal some pictures from Julie and add them in a little later! Some our friends wanted to stop by and see the new house, mess and all! We ended up ordering pizza and wings and Barb and Kaitlin stayed to eat. (Okay, really Barb offered to help unpack... never happened! I could not get motivated to even look at a box!) I did grab the camera just in time to catch Bronwyn eating her 1ft chicken wing! Daddy was showing her how!

Have you signed our questbook???

Now you can!

Too busy to Blog!?!?

So I mentioned a little about us moving but didn't get to the details. My dad bought a new house that he wanted to use as a rental property. He wanted us to be his renters! The house is just up the street from my parent's house now. Really, it's like 7 houses away! I can see their driveway from my front window! Danny seems excited to move into a house with a lawn again. And he doesn't seem to mind being so close to my parents. He's acually excited about it! Danny's dad and Evelyn also live in the same neighborhood. It's probably about a ten minute walk. Then my cousins June and Sal, Teresa, and her girls live just up the street from us. Probably a five minute walk! It'll be great to be so close to all the family. We're always in the neighborhood for one event or another anyway. Now we can save some money with those outrageous gas prices!!! My mom seems excited for the day when we can call her and say that Bronwyn is coming over and she can walk out on her front lawn and watch Bronwyn make it safely down the street!

My parents closed on the house a few weeks ago and we've been cleaning and painting and getting it ready since then. The house was in foreclosure so it has not exactly been well kept over the last year. It sure has been alot of work but my dad is really helping us out and letting us "customize" a few things for the inside. We're mostly done on the inside of the house. We'll be moving in over the next week. We have moved 4 times since we have been married but this time is so much more exhausting. Having done all the other work, I am running out of steam! And this time we have a whole extra person to move! Why didn't we stay put until Bronwyn was old enough to move herself??? She trying to help though.

This picture is of a box she packed herself... I guess she's got the necessities! Her juice cup, a snack cup, some books, and of course... Daphney!

My pictures are not quite good enough for Bronwyn anymore... now after I get one shot taken she tries to get the camera. Luckily she has not found out how to actually take the pictures yet!

Her room has pretty much been the focus at the new house. If there is one room I want to be perfectly perfect, it's hers! I want to create her a little "Butterfly Garden"... at least that's what I'm calling it! The walls are done, I added a few pictures of the progress it took to get there! My dad did all the paneling and right now he is working on making a bench seat the goes the length of one wall. It's going to have two toyboxes and a bookself under the bench.

I sure am lucky to have a dad that knows how to do so much woodworking. I just gave him my idea and he's taking care of the rest!!!

We're working real hard to get moved in! We'll takes lots of pictures once we are settled and decorated!

Bronwyn's 1st Fat Lip!

As if the Emergency Room visit 2 weeks ago was not enough for us to handle... Bronwyn got her 1st fat lip yesterday.

I took her out with me to walk our dog Sadie (something we do every day).

Bronwyn wanted to walk through the rocks next to our driveway (something she does every day).

I held out my hand for her to take to get her acoss the rocks (something I do every time).

And Bronwyn denied my helping hand and continued on her own (something she does every time).

Although this time she fell! She went down on her knees, then I saw her hands go down... then her face... into the rocks. I was only steps away from her but rushing to pick her up I was so afraid of what might have happened! Luckily it was only her bottom lip. Such a scary moment for all of us! Although I think Sadie was the most disturbed... by the fact that we rushed back inside and she had to wait to go for her walk.

Of course Bronwyn would not let me put any ice on her lip... until I pretended that the ice was a fun snack and licked it! Then she wanted to also. So she sucked on the ice cube (which I "secured" to a paper towel). And of course... she let me get a few pictures to document her pain. If you ask me... she seems to like the attention! (If you click on each picture you can see them larger!)

Why I love Elmo!

We have been having the most exhausting week ever! All this work getting the new house ready has taken over our lives right now! Today I stayed home with Bronwyn to catch up on some cleaning (until we go and paint tonight) and a few other things around home. Bronwyn has been having a rough couple of days. We think she is seriously teething! Some of her molars are coming in! So she's been slowing things down for me lately. This morning I just couldn't make her happy. Until... our favorite red furry monster came on Sesame Street! She won't watch the whole show. Only the 20 minutes near the end when "Elmo's World" comes on. And those 20 minutes were my saviour this morning!

So today I salute you, Mr.-Red-Furry-Elmo-Monster. Without you, I could have never gotten myself showered and dressed!

Happy 4th of July!

July

We had such a super busy weekend! We started off celebrating with Danny's family at his Mom and Scott's place. We had a little BBQ and then headed down to the pool for some fun. It was Bronwyn's 1st time in a big pool. She really seemed to enjoy it! Afterwards e headed home to get ready for a wedding. Our close family friend April was getting married! Unfortunally I have no pictures of the couple... the few I took did not come out and no one else has put any up for me to steal! But the time we drove home Bronwyn was just crashed out! She was going to miss all the fireworks! We didn't stop anywhere because we really thought she just needed the sleep. Once we got home and I tried to get her out of her dress and into p.j.'s she woke up and wanted to play. We took her up to our room and watched some fireworks in the distance from our window. It looked like she noticed them but could hardly stay awake! The rest of the weekend we spent working on the new house. Most of you probably know nothing about that but that will come in it's own blog... soon enough!
