Who does Hayden look like... maybe just himself!

So far it seems like everyone is trying to figure out which of Hayden's features belongs to whom... I like to think they may just be his own! But take a look for yourself at Danny and my baby pictures... it might help you figure it out!
Here's Danny...

This picture I think looks a lot like Bronwyn.

Here's me... (and I feel bad for my mom, cause I was not a cute newborn! EEK!)

And here's sweet little Hayden...

Here's Bronwyn the day after we came home from the hospital. I think she and Hayden have a lot of similar features. I see her in him in a lot of his expressions.

So there you go... you can decide for yourself. Just be gentle... it always hurts when someone says they see no resemblance!winking smile Pictures, Images and Photos

A Little Update...

We're just adjusting to life as a family of four!!! It's nice to have time to stay home and get use to things and just hang out with Hayden. We've had lots of vistors come by to meet Hayden. Everyone likes seeing Bronwyn around her little brother. And everyone has been great about making her a part of their visit also, and not just rushing to Hayden! We were worried about how she might react, but she had been doing great. We like it when she gets to show her her little brother!
We took Hayden in to the pediatricians office on Monday. He checked out just fine, although he was only weighing 8 pounds, 1 1/2 ounces... he lost 8 ounces so far! I had to take him back in today for a weight check. Somehow, he only gained an ounce since Monday! It's a little frustrating, but the doctor says we're doing everything just fine. We're just going to try feeding him a little more and finding out how much makes him full. Then I have to take him back in Saturday morning for another weight check.
Bronwyn is loving having Hayden around. She likes to have him lay with her on the couch and watch cartoons! Apparently she thinks he enjoys it as much as she does! Sorry about this sideways view, I can't seem to change it!)
I'm recovering well. I've actually been feeling really good. With Bronwyn I think I was afraid to move!!! I'm probably doing too much right now, but I like being busy, it's just what I do! Today I actually tried on my regular jeans, and they FIT!!! I was pretty pleased! So tomorrow I may need to find some time to pack away the maternity clothes! YAY! Today, at the peditrician's office I was taking Hayden out of his carrier and the nurse said, "wow, he has such a perfect round head, so you had to have a c-section?"... haha! I just said no. But I laughed on the way home and said to myself, "no, I just make perfect little babies!!!" It's true, everyone said the same thing about Bronwyn!
Here are some more pictures from the last couple days! I need to do some more picture stealing! I should have made everyone that has visited take pictures with Hayden, I just got a little distracted! But we're happy to have had all the visitors!

Welcome to the World!

Hayden Patrick Jones was born Friday, March 20th at 11:53 am. He came in weighing just 8 pounds, 9 1/2 ounces and measuring 21 1/4 inches long. We were so lucky, he was able to be born on Danny's 30th Birthday! (The best present I could have ever given him!) I went in Thursday night to be induced. By 11:00pm I was settled in and they had started pitocin. It was about 3:00am when my contractions were coming on stronger and I was given the epidural. At 7:00am my doctor came in and broke my water, I was still only dialated about 3 cm. The rest of the morning went by pretty slow. My mom and dad came to the hospital with Bronwyn, she had stayed overnight with them, early hoping to not miss anything. Danny's step-mom Evelyn came down early too, Jim was working out of town and had to miss this birth! After that Danny's mom Deb came down to join us also. The rest of the morning went by pretty slow, but having visitors always helps to pass the time. Danny's brother James and his wife Sarah came up from the Springs and so did his brother Greg and his wife Shannon. Danny's step-dad Scott made it over to the hospital also. I didnb't even get to see everyone because of how quickly things started going!
The nurses came in to check me out every hour or two, and I was barely changing from each time. My doctor told them to have me lay on my side and try bending my knees up as far as I could to my chest. Every 30 minutes I had to switch sides. Out of nowhere, I began to feel the contractions again. They started coming on stronger and stronger. The nurse checked the monitors and it seemed each time I had a contraction, Hayden's heart rate went up from lack of oxygen. So they made me wear an oxygen mask to get more to him. This was all at about 10:45am. They checked my cervix again and I had dialated to 6 cm. I was crying and getting all worked up, the pain was almost unbearable. They called the anesthesiologist in to give me a "boost" in my epidural. Once that kicked in I was doing a little better. I started talking about all the pressure I was feeling and after checking me again, I was dialated to 10 cm. They had called my doctor at her office and she headed right over. I was ready for delivery in no time! Still thinking Hayden was going to be huge, they were making lots of preparations to help him out, and help me if there was too much blood lost. Danny was able to stay by my side the entire time and help hold my left leg while I pushed. I pushed through 3 contractions, and with the start of the 4 one, Hayden was out!!! 9 minutes total!!! He came right out with no problems at all. It was just crazy! I was able to hold him right away, then they took him to cut his cord, clean him up and get his weight and such.
As soon as I was all cleaned up, Danny went out to the waiting room and got Bronwyn to bring her to meet her new brother! She seemed really excited. She had lots of hugs and kisses for him right away! I think she understands what happened. It seems she realizes he's not in my belly anymore. I know she's going to be a great big sister! All the grandparents were able to come in and meet Hayden and see Bronwyn with him. With Bronwyn, no one got to see her outside the nursery the day she was born. Since this hospital did things differently, everyone got to see us right away!
We were able to come home on Saturday, just after 1pm. My parents brought Bronwyn home and she was really happy to see Hayden again. More hugs and kisses! She likes to be able to hold him and to lay with him too. It's definitaly fun having him around! It's much easier this time around then it was bringing Bronwyn home. Having gone through this once before makes this time much easier to handle. We're no experts, but we're just not freaking out about everything!

Dancing to her own tune...

So we've decided that the first dance class that I took Bronwyn to a couple weeks ago was a little more than she could handle for right now. It was an hour long and Bronwyn was perfect and interested.... for the first 30 minutes!!! After than she wanted me, wanted to make up her own dances, and didn't care to listen to the teacher anymore!!! So, I set out in search for something a little more Bronwyn's style! We found a Mommy and Me dance class that is just 30 minutes long. I get to go in the room with her and about 4 other sets of moms and daughters. We do a little to get the girls started. Then once they are having fun and getting the hang of things we are able to just be there without having to do all the "dancing". This one seems to be pretty fun for Bronwyn. And I won't lie, I get some good stretching and activity out of it too!!! This one is on my day off, so no trying to skip out of work for a bit! And it's also at 9:30 in the morning where the other class we tried interrupted lunch. Bronwyn would fall asleep on the way home and then wouldn't get to eat! So I'm glad we found this one! Plus, it's right behind our neighborhood. We might even have to try walking once the weather warms up.
This class should help to get Bronwyn ready for a real class. So no recital this summer, which I thought would have been adorable... Bronwyn would have "stolen" the show anyway, being that she would just do what she wanted to do and distract the girls in the other class! Besides, with all the other dancers we know, one of them already had a recital the same day! That'll be tons of fun to work out in the upcoming years... right?!?! I'm glad I found something for Bronwyn to get into. I know she'll have lots of fun! And seeing her excited about the stuff she is learning is all that I need!!! (Okay, seeing her in her cute dance outfit is pretty neat too!)

An almost final baby update...

Yesterday I went in for my 36 week appointment! My doctor had the results from the ultrassound last week and after reviewing them and also what she had written up after Bronwyn's delivery, she's decided that it would be best to induce me at 39 weeks. We didn't set an exact date yet, but I am dialated to 1 cm so after I go in next Monday and depending on any more dialation, we'll decide then. So Hayden should be coming the week of the 23rd. I want to make sure my doctor can do the delivery if possible so that will be a deciding factor as well. Basically my doctor doesn't think it's neccessary to push out a baby much bigger than 9 pounds. With Bronwyn being 8.2 and taking her time moving down once I had been induced, my doctor thinks my body just might not be able to handle much bigger. She mentioned a C-Section again yesterday, that if he's too big that might be the best option for me. The idea of that is putting me under a lot of stress. Of course if that's what needs to happen, then I'll deal with it. But the thought of it makes me really nervous. With Bronwyn I was given one more hour for her to move and get to 10 cm, if she was not there, they were going to do a C-Section. But in the end it all worked out and we didn't have to, so now I really don't want to. Just makes me sad I guess. My doctor did say that I very well could still just go into labor early. That because of the size of my uterus that my body may just react and think that it's time. She says that at this point it's normal and okay. I'm just hoping to keep dialating further and further!
Other than that I am really looking forward to this weekend. My friends are throwing my shower on Saturday and I know it'll be tons of fun!The nursery is also now finished! My dad and Danny spent some time this weekend doing all the trim work. Bronwyn sure likes the room. In fact, she's trying to move in. she lines toys up along the window sill She even took a few pillows from her room and placed them on the floor with more toys. I got the rest of the stuff cleaned out and started placing furniture and decorating. I'm waiting on a few more things for the room that I ordered online. And I washed all the 0-3 months clothes lastnight! So we're pretty much ready whenever Hayden wants to come out!
