The end of August took us to the Butterfly Pavillion! My parents have never been and my mom really wanted to go so they joined us on our outing! It was a first for Hayden and a 3rd time for Bronwyn, although she was probably too small to remember the last time. We went through the "Crawl-A-See-Um" area and saw all the creepy crawlies and my dad and I were each brave enough to let Rosie, the pet tarantula walk across our hands. Then everyone but Hayden and I (the little guy got hungry!)went through the "Water's Edge" touching sea stars and other sea creatures.
Next we toured the "Wing's over the Tropics", where over 1,200 butterflies flutter around. It's so crazy to see them all breezing along. They will land anywhere! Bronwyn is pretty well behaved and resisted the urge to try and catch one. (Don't be one of those people if you go... touching a butterflies wings will shorten it's life span.) Lots of pictures from the trip! This is one of my favorite places!
Beautiful and graceful, varied and enchanting, small but approachable, butterflies lead you to the sunny side of life. And everyone deserves a little sunshine. ~Jeffrey Glassberg
